Urocor Inc., which operates a lab in Oklahoma City, has agreed to pay $9 Million Dollars to settle allegations asserted in a qui tam action filed by several former employees of the company. Urocor specializes in conducting tests to detect bladder and prostate canner.
The allegations of the case were that the company improperly charged Medicare, and other federal health programs for tests which were not medically necessary, or which were investigational.
As part of the settlement, the relators who filed the qui tam lawsuits will receive a share of the proceeds of the settlement. Relator Dr. Theresa Worner will receive $690,000, relator Christine Moore will receive $460,000, and relator Sandra Turner will receive $200,000.
